UK Meditation Retreat

A unique experience to spend a weekend immersed in a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in the Eskdale Valley, Scotland. This calm, tranquil and peaceful location with wonderful and authentic buildings is the perfect place to take some time to rest and refresh, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Relax in the peace & quiet surrounded by nature, where you can walk along the River Esk or spend time in the extensive library & borrow anything you fancy reading. Visit the Tibetan Tea Rooms for a range of delicious teas, have a browse around the gift shop or volunteer to help out around the grounds. You are welcome to do as much or as little as you like.

We will be staying in basic, yet comfortable accommodation onsite. All rooms have a wash basin, single bed, work surface/desk and a shared bathroom. Single sex dorms and a limited number of twin rooms are also available.

The retreat is catered from the evening meal on Friday night to lunch on Sunday. All meals are simple, nourishing and vegetarian and will be eaten in the dining room with other guests/visitors/volunteers etc.

What is included?

Single room accommodation (or shared dorm if you prefer) with shared bathroom

All meals (Friday evening meal to Sunday lunch)

Twice daily meditation sessions

Daily Yoga Sessions

Hike around the local valley

Use of the onsite library

Temple Prayer Sessions

Although this is a Buddhist Monastery, this is not a religious retreat. All beliefs are welcome and all sessions are optional.
