Why Online Yoga Still Feels Like Home

There’s something magical about stepping onto your Yoga mat. It becomes a small of sanctuary and for over five years now, our online Yoga community has been logging on from kitchens and bedrooms, gardens and hallway corners.

What started as a practical solution during a time of global uncertainty has now become a permanent, powerful part of how I support women to move, breathe, rest and counteract the work stress many of us are living with.

If you're curious about joining online Yoga but worry it won’t feel the same as a in-person Yoga class…let me reassure you that this isn’t just a screen and a stretch. This is an online Yoga community that actually fits into your life. This is Yoga that still feels like home.

1. Online Yoga That Meets You Where You Are

Life doesn’t wait for your schedule to calm down. Most of the women who practise with me are busy with work, family, midlife, hormones, all the real-life stuff. They love Yoga, but struggle to make it to an in-person class regularly, even when they really want to.

That’s why online Yoga works so well! You don’t need to factor in travel, childcare, or finding a parking space. You just roll out your mat, click a link, and you’re there! Straight into a welcoming space, with familiar faces, and a teacher who gets the problems you’re going through.

Whether you’re joining live or catching up on the replay in your PJs at 9:30pm (or 6:30am with a coffee!), you’re still part of a community of women who value investing in themselves and see the benefits of a consistent Yoga practices.

2. A Yoga Community That Genuinely Cares

When people think of online Yoga, they often imagine faceless Zoom classes or YouTube videos with no interaction. But that’s not what we do here! In fact, it’s not uncommon for us to practice zero Yoga poses because sometimes we just sit and chat!

This is a space where people know your name. Where you can show up just as you are and people remember what you were struggling with last week, and genuinely want to hear from you.

Over the last five years, we’ve built something more than a class schedule. We’ve built a community. Women have shared life’s ups and downs in our sessions from birthdays, breakups, babies, to menopause, promotions, grief, and growth and everything in between!

There’s a special kind of magic that happens when women gather, even virtually. You don’t have to say a word, but you’ll feel the quiet solidarity that proves we’re all in this together.

3. You Don’t Have to Be “Good at Yoga”

Let’s bust this myth right now! You don’t need to be flexible, bendy, spiritual, or super calm to join our classes.

Most of the women who practise with me are don’t want to bend their bodies into pretzel poses. They want to feel better in their bodies, calmer in their minds and more like themselves again.

Our classes are friendly, fun and rooted in the kind of Yoga that supports you through real life, all the messy, wonderful, tiring, beautiful parts of it.

Whether you want to build strength, find more balance, stretch it out after a long day, or just lie down and breathe (yes, that counts!), there’s a class for that.

4. Flexibility that Supports You

Here’s what’s not helpful when life is already full, things like rigid timetables, long commutes, and guilt when you can’t “keep up.”

With online Yoga, you can practise at a time that suits you, not the other way around.

📅 Can’t make the live session? No problem.
💻 Want to repeat last week’s Strength and Flexibility class? It’s in the library.
☕ Only have 15 minutes before the school run? We’ve got a short one ready.

Your Yoga practice can now be something that fits into your life, rather than something that adds to your to-do list. Think of it as a relief for the stress and strains you’re suffering from, rather then than a task

5. A Safe Space to Be You

So many women have told me they didn’t join Yoga sooner because they felt intimidated by studio classes. They didn’t know the poses, they didn’t own fancy leggings, or they were worried about not being “fit/slim/young/flexible enough.”

Online Yoga removes that barrier.

You’re in your space, with your lighting, your blanket, your cat/dog/kids occasionally wandering in and you don’t have to perform for anyone. You can turn your camera off, you can even rest in child’s pose the whole time if that’s what your body needs.

There’s no pressure to get it right. The only thing that matters is that you showed up for yourself.

6. Five Years of Showing Up for Women (Just Like You)

I’ve been running our online Yoga classes for over five years now, not as a side project, but as a true home for women’s wellbeing.

This is a space that’s grown with us. That’s evolved through lockdowns, job changes, health journeys, changing seasons and stages of life. It’s tried and tested and it’s here for the long haul.

Online Yoga classes aren’t a trend. They are a tool for living more calmly, more kindly, more consciously and impact our whole life, not just the time we spend on the mat.

7. It’s More Than Movement

Yes, we move our bodies but online Yoga with me is also about so much more.

We breathe.
We rest.
We talk about what’s really going on.
We share little moments of real life joy.
We rant and share our problems.

If you're craving more balance, more calm, more connection, then this is your invitation to join us!

Come As You Are

If you’ve been thinking about joining an online Yoga class but weren’t sure where to start, start here!

If you’re waiting for the “right time”, I’m afraid it won’t come. If you’re going to start Yoga once you’re more flexible or have more time, you’ll never start! You just need to show up, invest in yourself and start wherever you are.

Come stretch, breathe, rest and remember what it feels like to be supported, seen, and cared for.

Because online Yoga can be powerful. Personal and yes it can (and does) absolutely feel like home.
